Brand War Hotting Up

Posted by Ram in

Readers will remember my article "How Come !!!!" in which i spoke about Brands being associated with us right from birth. Now people are fighting for recognition of one such brand. Wondering what this is all about?"GUJJARS"( now u would have got it for sure)

Gujjar brand now wants Brand Equity. Although a temporary ceasefire looks imminent, this whole issue has clearly shown how the policies followed by our politicians have become a "Frankenstein's Monster".

The "Divide and Rule" policy implemented under the guise of "Reservation" is now a Monster which is growing at an alarming pace. The recent decision of the Supreme Court has only accelerated this growth. With the governments all over the country scouting for more and more benefits to some sections of the society, it is only natural that more and more people want to be identified as those sections for which there are perks and benefits.

Gujjars to me seem to be only the Tip of the Iceberg. If they are successful then they will act as inspirations for more brands to follow suit and get themselves recognized. Now if they are denied and this agitation crushed,( well cant even imagine that, with so much media coverage to the issue).

So Gujjars have set the ball rolling. It might be Kapus tomoro,Some other caste the next day and who knows a day might come when we will see even the Brahmins taking it to the streets. Well i can now say with confidence that we will be there as the most Brand Conscious Nation in a short span of time.

Jai Hind.

There are 2 ways out of this,
1) become a leader, fix this crap
2) migrate to a better place where the crap is less!

Notice, i said crap is "less" - its present everywhere but its over redundant down there where u stay!

Between 1 & 2, "The road not taken" is quite apparent.

- US of A Rocks! Still, Jai Hind!

- US of A Rocks! Still, Jai Hind!

Thats the most common and irritating lines of all times!
I can't get where your loyalties are with those lines!

Gud quesetion Greensleeves. I am also confused with KB'S statement. Lets wait for KB to issue a clarification.

June 5, 2008 at 6:19 AM

Well my loyal beings, what value does your loyalty bring to the country and in what fronts? To heck with loyalty and crap, i just like that place coz thats some place where i can stay without a Visa :D

My 2 paise to the much practised "BRAND Freaquity"

Either fix that stuff (kidding u) or get off that place (Seriously!) or stop ranting (oh puhleaase, you should know its not gonna do any good).

Truly,
Acid Ink

By the way, I trust,

Jai Hind or Hindustan ki jai
conveys the same emotions as
US of A rocks does!

Loyalty??? Well, for what Reasons should there be any?

June 5, 2008 at 7:33 AM

All I say is, either tell I prefer US or Ind.. don't go about telling Ind is bad, US rocks but then Jai Hind! what purpose does it serve?
No offences meant!

June 5, 2008 at 8:54 AM

Deeply feel for ur inability to comprehend things, no offence meant ;-)

June 5, 2008 at 9:05 AM

Well, even Nepal doesnt require a Visa for a stay. Add Mao Nepal as well to your slogan!
Well a silly funny fight i feel. :)

KB.Agreed not all is well with my country.

US of A rocks!!!

A Country responsible for taking Crude from 30 odd dollars to 130 odd dollars, and rocking the world economy.

A country which practises spending as a virture. A country which has now brought the world financial system to its knees through some stupid and greedy policies.

A country which uses its agri lands for bio fuel thereby fuelling a food crisis, and then blames the other nations.

is a country which u call Rocking.Strange.

few excellent points Ram! The lifestyle out there is good perhaps, but then in a society there needs to be a two way treaty. Just because you get the best out in US, it doesn't become THE place.

June 5, 2008 at 10:58 AM

sleeveless,
u sure nepal doenst need any? afaik, u(we) as a indian citizen dont need a visa to stay in there. aint sure if it extends to ppl of other nationalities.

ram,
i've seen that video where some professor from TN ranted over all these points too. well, he was literally blasting each and every point u put fwd for around 2 hrs!

Agreed, he may be true.

But, Dont you see this clear - a set of ppl raving over something from some part of the world where things are poor. wel, how much does that affect anyone down here? Blah -ing all over the place doenst help. In short, if u intend to make an impact, this aint no way of doing it. tis nothin more than rambling of empty vessels!

June 5, 2008 at 11:54 AM

And i certainly dont see a betterment happening down there where i belong to. Ur so called brand frequity is poppin its head up a bit too much. 50% at the IITs? Waaw, waht a feat to achieve after all these years of hard struggle.

May be when its time for my son or daughter to join a school, reserving for the "deserved" few (my A**) might just be at a whopping 100%. Well, okay am making it too much, i know they are fair down there. lets reserve 99% of the seats and leave the rest for competent people. Way to go!

For your notice, education is much better and advanced here. And on top of it, its FAIR here. As a student, US of A is heaven to me. To Hell with the place where education isnt a fair deal.

>> :) Lol, proof behind this stat?

A country which practises spending as a virture.
>> what is it to you? Money is meant to be spent, not locked up in lockers!

A country which has now brought the world financial system to its knees through some stupid and greedy policies.
>> Can you elaborate? Sounds more generalized.

A country which uses its agri lands for bio fuel thereby fuelling a food crisis, and then blames the other nations.
>> Agri land for bio fuel? What does that mean?

Pen down some links if u can to support the points!

///But, Dont you see this clear - a set of ppl raving over something from some part of the world where things are poor. wel, how much does that affect anyone down here? ///

Precisely what i am saying that US of A is not bothered abt anyone else and is ready to xploit others for its benefit

//Blah -ing all over the place doenst help. In short, if u intend to make an impact, this aint no way of doing it. tis nothin more than rambling of empty vessels//

If gr8 writers writing in reputed magazines like the Economist and "The Washington Post" are not able to make US change its approach, how do u xpect me to do it? I dunno. So what u call them? Rambling of empty vessels. If so i am more than happy to join that elite league.

June 5, 2008 at 12:23 PM

Precisely what i am saying that US of A is not bothered abt anyone else and is ready to xploit others for its benefit

>> Human nature, Its You first, The world Next.

If gr8 writers writing in reputed magazines like the Economist and "The Washington Post" are not able to make US change its ap.... BLAAAAAAAAAAH

>> Simple - "Action speak louder than Words."

Do the change if you find a way out for this. There is no point Re-iterating what people already know. Makes Sense?

June 5, 2008 at 12:30 PM

/* Precisely what i am saying that US of A is not bothered abt anyone else and is ready to xploit others for its benefit

>> Human nature, Its You first, The world Next. */
Alrite for human nature, but is that fine for a country's engagements? Nope, then why the heck do you have UN and other world bodies? May be time for WW3?
Dude, there is no problem with me if you love the US, plan to settle there.
Most people do that, but then when the economy tumbles all of a sudden and people get fired, then where do they had back to? to their dreaded motherland! and what do you get? a big fat paycheck, with all the amenities. Now that is a bad India!

June 5, 2008 at 1:07 PM

lolol.. i believe the world is a free place. who wants just head back? may be thats one idea but not the only idea! and if u ask me, the smartass makes hay wherever (not WHEN) the sun shines :D

June 5, 2008 at 1:26 PM

sleeves,
what do you think the UN is made up of? A bunch of machines? Its again humans dude, representing their country. They arent free from the biases tht i talked about. They'd again put their country before any other nation, without a doubt whoever has a higher voice wins.

June 5, 2008 at 1:32 PM

Dude, there is no problem with me if you love the US, plan to settle there.

You're too clever man, too great that you can even read whats in people's minds :) keep that goin! thanks for the entertainment :D

If i can remind u that Oil was trading around 35 before US invadecd Iraq. These greedy fellas wanted to take control of Iraq's oil supplies. The move backfired, Iraq's oils supplies were cut. Then they teased Iran ending their regular Supply too, which is a major reason for the increase in the price of oil.

Money is meant to be spent. Agreed.

But u must spend ur money. Not borrow and spend. If u can give the US budget a glance u will know the External Debt as a percent of their GDP.

>> Can you elaborate? Sounds more generalized.

Surprising to know that being in US u are not aware of the Sub Prime Crisis!!

>>Agri land for bio fuel? What does that mean?

Again surprising to know that u are not aware of this. US has cut short its production of food grains and it is producing Corn for Bio Fuel.

There are loads of Info available on all this. Just surf for them and u will know the truth urself.

June 5, 2008 at 1:35 PM

absolutely, no issues with that. Now that is a personal decision, make hay , paddy whatever.
But then we were discussing country policies i guess! Here, you cant make hay by paining others, sorry no way.
Be it India or the US.

And when you start questioning world governing bodies' intent, then there is no issue talking further.
No way those bodies can go ahead taking decisions which are good for a select few.

June 5, 2008 at 1:36 PM

well, it shudnt surprise u that much ram, i dont study the US economy. I do something different, waay different that pays off really well than studying US economy.
Thats why i asked you for more precise explanation. Prolly il surf for those info when i get some time to thrash around.

And i have no words for the hay, paddy farmer who finds there is nothing more to speak about the world governing bodies :)

June 5, 2008 at 1:46 PM

Sleeves,
Really feeling for you.
well well, looks like u got blown out of context.

The hay paddy was for what you said about returning to the motherland after getting fired!

Is that a part of ur discussion on country policies? If so, a new policy may be :)

June 5, 2008 at 1:52 PM

June 7, 2008 at 2:13 AM

i understood wat kb meant in his 1st post.... i respect his philosophy, but later on he argued without any rationale...

he seems 2 b equally frustrated with the turn of events here...but chose 2 stay away as der was nothing we can do 2 change as mere mortals....

he doesn't even wat people 2 talk abt things which we cannot alter r contribute 2 better d situation...dats my observation...NOM
